Many things has been done for this graduation preparation and this bad news was received when I was having my sorta-graduation vacation at Pulau Redang.

It was like the sky has fallen on me and the days through me after received such unexpected result was gloomy and dark even though the sun shines brightly and the sky is as clear as each cloud can be seen like huge tasty marshmallow at Pulau Redang. The vacation may have ended with joy for others as for me it was still considered enjoyable and yet nothing more worse than those earthquake victims in Sichuan.

The next day after coming back from Pulau Redang with few hours ride on boat departing at 12pm and long hours bus ride from jetty to KT and KT to Kuantan and from Kuantan to Puduraya KL at 2am and then finally reach my home at PJ around 3am, immediately the first thing on my mind in the early 8am in the morning (very early for me as 11am in the morning is the usual time i wake up) was to seek my killer lecturer, Dr Amir. Reaching Bioinfo Dept in 9am, realizing no one was there except the cleaning auntie i decide to wait until Dr Amir arrives. 10am passed, 12pm passed, still no shadow of Dr Amir to be seen. Then i head over to had my lunch hoping to see him after lunch hour. However, 2pm passed, 3pm passed.

And there has been no hope for me to see him again at that day but then 4pm i suddenly peek through the windows and saw his car driving in and parked. With joy i rushed over to meet up with him. The first things i said to him is “Dr Amir, I would like to talk to you regarding my exam results.”. He replied “You failed?”.

I replied “Yes”. With anger and loud he shouted at me “You failed means FAILED“. I was like going crazy after listening to his reply. I was just wanna get a PASS for my exam and graduate like others but now the dream shattered as piece of mirror smashed on rocks. It seem like i had no choice but to extend my studies just because of one subject unrelated to my future job requirement.

The same day, I went back to Penang with my buddy Chee Jia. He drove my car from KL to Penang without changing turns of driving as I was not in mood for driving and too tired to do so. I might as well as driving the car to opposite road and bang the car to express my mood if I were to drive at the journey. Luckily, I managed to arrive home safely. The moment I entered my house, I was thinking of how am I going to tell my parents that I failed and unable to graduate as expected. After unpacking my things in 2.30am my mom came out of room as greets me as she as already slept. And one thing first thing that she asked me is when is my graduation convocation going to be held? I replied “I dunno” even though I know the when the dates going to be. It is really a disappointing news for them. However, this news have to be told later or sooner. I got to bed as usual and the next day in the morning i told them the truth. Things we’re not as bad as P expected and they accepted it was part of destiny.

One more thing that I has to deal is my job. I have signed the offer letter for position of system engineer and now I can’t graduate. I thought the company would have terminate our agreement as I voided the rules and regulation where I will not be able to received my certificate of degree in the promised time. Then I went over to my manager and I tell him the truth. To my surprise, he offered me to be transfered to Cyberjaya as they need people there as well and also for me to continue to take on my course until I graduate and I am still hired as their system engineer.

The sky has fallen on me and now it become my blanket. LOL. Things weren’t so bad after all. I am still employed even though I am not yet a graduate. All thanks to my company.
